Concerns about coronavirus have caused workers of many companies to be sent home and encouraged to work remotely. To help in this unusual situation, many manufacturers decided to make their usually paid programs and services available for free.
Facilitating communication between employees
In this way, remote work can be easier and simpler to implement in more jobs. To make communication during remote work without problems and not based on messengers like Messenger, Microsoft has provided its Teams messenger for free for up to 6 months.
Cisco made a similar gesture, providing to the free Webex application Additional features implemented to facilitate remote work. You can count on connections with up to 100 employees, also in HD quality and unlimited meeting times.
Meanwhile, Google is reaching out to Remote employees with a free access to the Hangouts Meet messenger as part of the G Suite package. Using it without fees will be possible until July 1st, 2020. Small businesses can now also use Cloudflare for Teams for free and this offer will not change for at least 6 months.
Actions that will bring benefits in the future
In the long run, the described actions will definitely bring profit to producers. Employers who have not used the messengers and tools mentioned so far can easily get used to them in the free period and, as a consequence, decide to buy it when the Coronavirus problem is a thing of the past and the software will be available again only at an additional cost.
At the moment, however, let’s appreciate the gestures of the producers and – if possible – use the remote work option so as not to expose ourselves and others to unnecessary personal contact.
